Topic: Secure IIoT Trust Framework Using Fuzzy Logic and Blockchain

Abstract: This seminar introduces a novel framework designed to enhance trust and operational efficiency in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) networks by integrating fuzzy logic with blockchain technology. As IIoT systems grow in complexity, they face increasing threats from malicious nodes, data tampering, and centralized vulnerabilities. The proposed solution leverages a Mamdani-type Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) to dynamically evaluate device legitimacy based on behavioral metrics—Survival Time, Trust Factor, and Monitoring Capability. These evaluations are securely recorded on a private blockchain, ensuring tamper-proof, decentralized trust management. The session will explore the system’s architecture, fuzzy rule design, blockchain logging mechanisms, and simulation results from MATLAB, which demonstrate improved detection accuracy, reduced false authentication rates, and resilience under escalating attack scenarios. Attendees will gain insights into the interdisciplinary design process.
